Promotions and Coupons
Drive sales and reward customers with Mozhe's flexible promotion and coupon system. Create automatic discounts, coupon codes, free shipping offers, and buy-one-get-one deals.
Overview
Mozhe offers two discount mechanisms:
- Promotions - Automatic discounts that apply when conditions are met
- Coupons - Discount codes customers enter at checkout
Promotions
Promotions apply automatically to qualifying orders without requiring a code.
Creating a Promotion
To create an automatic promotion:
- Navigate to Marketing > Promotions
- Click Create Promotion
- Configure the trigger conditions
- Set the reward type
- Define usage limits and validity period
- Click Save

Example Promotions
Spend $100, Get 10% Off:
- Trigger: Cart Total >= $100
- Reward: Percentage Off, 10%
Buy 3, Get 1 Free:
- Trigger: Cart Quantity >= 3
- Reward: Free Product (select the gift item)
- Gift Quantity: 1
Free Shipping on Orders Over $50:
- Trigger: Cart Total >= $50
- Reward: Free Shipping
Product Applicability
Control which products trigger or receive the promotion:
Buy X Get Y Promotions
Create "Buy X Get Y" deals:
- Set Trigger Type to Cart Quantity or Category Quantity
- Enter Buy Quantity (e.g., 2)
- Enter Get Quantity (e.g., 1)
- Set Get Discount (100% = free, 50% = half price)
Example: Buy 2 shirts, get the 3rd at 50% off.
Maximum Discount Caps
For percentage discounts, set a maximum to protect margins:
- Set Reward Type to Percentage Off
- Enter the percentage (e.g., 20%)
- Set Maximum Discount (e.g., $50)
The customer gets 20% off, up to $50 maximum.
Stacking Promotions
By default, only one promotion applies per order. Enable stacking to combine multiple promotions:
- Edit a promotion
- Toggle Allow Stacking
- Set Priority (higher priority applies first)
Promotion Progress Indicator
Customers see their progress toward promotions in cart:
- "Spend $25 more for free shipping!"
- Progress bar shows how close they are
- Encourages larger orders
Coupons
Coupons require customers to enter a code at checkout.
Creating a Coupon
To create a coupon code:
- Navigate to Marketing > Coupons
- Click Create Coupon
- Enter a unique coupon code
- Configure discount settings
- Set limits and validity
- Click Save
Coupon Code Rules
- Codes are case-insensitive (SAVE20 = save20)
- Use memorable, easy-to-type codes
- Avoid easily confused characters (0/O, 1/l)
- Keep codes short (8-12 characters ideal)
Discount Types

Coupon Settings
Configure your coupon:
- Minimum Order Value - Require a minimum purchase
- Maximum Discount - Cap the discount amount (for percentage coupons)
- Free Shipping - Include free shipping with the discount
Product Applicability
Control which products the coupon affects:

Usage Limits
Prevent abuse with usage limits:
- Total Usage Limit - Maximum total uses (e.g., first 100 customers)
- Per-Customer Limit - Maximum uses per customer (e.g., once per customer)
Validity Period
Set when the coupon is valid:
- Set Start Date (optional, for scheduled launches)
- Set End Date (required for limited-time offers)
Leave both blank for an always-valid coupon.

Welcome Discount:
- Code: WELCOME15
- Type: Percentage, 15%
- Per-Customer Limit: 1
- No end date
Flash Sale:
- Code: FLASH50
- Type: Fixed, $50
- Minimum Order: $200
- End Date: [Flash sale end time]
- Total Usage Limit: 50
VIP Discount:
- Code: VIPSAVE
- Type: Percentage, 25%
- Product Applicability: Products Not on Sale
- Per-Customer Limit: 3
Managing Discounts
Activating and Deactivating
Toggle promotions and coupons on/off:
- Navigate to the promotion or coupon
- Click the Active toggle
- Changes take effect immediately
Deactivating preserves the configuration for future use.
Monitoring Usage
Track discount performance:
- Open a promotion or coupon
- View the Stats section:
- Total uses
- Total discount given
- Average order value
- Orders with this discount
Editing Active Discounts
You can edit discounts at any time:
- Changes apply to new orders immediately
- Existing orders are not affected
- Update end dates to extend offers
Deleting Discounts
To remove a discount permanently:
- Navigate to the discount
- Click Delete
- Confirm deletion
Note: Deletion is permanent. Consider deactivating instead.
Best Practices
Promotion Strategy
- Threshold discounts - "Spend $X, get Y" encourages larger orders
- Limited time - Urgency drives conversions
- Seasonal campaigns - Plan holiday and event promotions
- Loyalty rewards - Exclusive codes for repeat customers
Protecting Margins
- Always calculate your margin before setting discounts
- Use maximum discount caps on percentage offers
- Test promotions with a small customer segment first
- Monitor average order value during promotions
Preventing Abuse
- Set per-customer limits on valuable coupons
- Use unique codes for influencer partnerships
- Monitor for unusual usage patterns
- Deactivate compromised codes immediately
A/B Testing
Test different offers to find what works:
- Compare percentage vs. fixed discounts
- Test different threshold amounts
- Measure conversion rate and AOV changes
- Run limited tests before full rollouts
Troubleshooting
Coupon Not Working
Check these common issues:
- Expired - Verify the end date hasn't passed
- Inactive - Ensure the coupon is toggled on
- Usage limit reached - Check if limits are exhausted
- Minimum not met - Order may be below minimum value
- Product restrictions - Items may not qualify
Promotion Not Applying
Verify:
- Cart meets the trigger threshold
- Products qualify based on applicability settings
- Promotion is active and within valid dates
- No conflicting promotions with higher priority
Double Discounts
If customers are getting unexpected double discounts:
- Check if stacking is enabled
- Review priority settings
- Verify promotion applicability doesn't overlap
Displaying Discounts
In Cart
Customers see:
- Applied promotion name and discount
- Coupon field for entering codes
- Promotion progress indicators
- Total savings before checkout
On Products
Show sale pricing on product pages:
- Navigate to Settings > Store
- Enable Show Savings on Products
- Sale prices display with original price crossed out
